MovIQ is a local media player designed to play video and audio files already stored on your device. To function, MovIQ requires permission to access your device's media storage. We only scan and play these files locally on your device. We do not upload, share, track, or store any of your personal videos, music, or media files on our servers or any external databases.
ShekTech ("we," "us," or "our") built the MovIQ app as a Freemium application. This SERVICE is provided by ShekTech at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
Information Collection and Use
While using our Service, we do not require you to provide us with directly identifiable personal information (such as your name or email). However, the app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device, track app performance, or provide necessary backend services for monetization and cross-platform availability.
Device Storage and Media Permissions
Because MovIQ is a media player, it requires explicit permission to read files from your device's storage (such as READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, or READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, depending on your OS version). This access is strictly used to discover and play the video and audio formats you choose to open within the app. Any data generated by the app, such as your playback history, custom playlists, or subtitle preferences, is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.
In-App Purchases
MovIQ offers in-app purchases to unlock premium features (such as removing advertisements or unlocking advanced playback tools). All payments and transactions are handled securely and directly by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any of your financial information, such as credit card numbers or banking details. Your transaction history and payment details are governed entirely by the privacy policies of the respective app stores.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To support the continued development of MovIQ, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the free version of the app. AdMob may use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), and other technologies to collect data about your interactions with the app and other apps on your device in order to provide personalized advertising.
Tracking and Advertising Options (iOS & Android)
Depending on your device and location, you have choices regarding personalized advertising:
- iOS Users: Under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, you will be prompted to grant permission before we can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for targeted advertising. You can change your preference at any time in your iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
- Android Users: You can opt out of personalized ads by navigating to your device's Settings > Google > Ads, and selecting "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or "Delete advertising ID."
- EU/UK/EEA Users (GDPR): If you are located in a region governed by GDPR or similar data protection regulations, you will be presented with a consent form upon launching the app, allowing you to choose whether to accept personalized or non-personalized ads.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide you with our Service and for legitimate business purposes.
How to delete your data: Because your playback history, app settings, and media files are stored locally on your device, you can delete MovIQ's generated data at any time simply by clearing the app's cache and data in your device's system settings, or by uninstalling the app. If you wish to request the deletion of any basic diagnostic or ad-related data that may be tied to your device identifier, please contact us directly at Abhishek.shektech@gmail.com.
Children's Privacy
Our Services do not specifically address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.
Log Data and Security
Whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error or crash in the app, we may collect data and information (through standard App Store and Google Play developer tools) on your phone called Log Data. This may include your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the format of the media file that caused the crash, and the time and date of your use. We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your data, but remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new media format support, app features, or legal requirements. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
