ShekTech ("we," "us," or "our") built the LawAware app as a Freemium educational tool. This SERVICE is provided by ShekTech at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, track performance, or provide necessary backend services for cross-platform availability (iOS and Android).

Local Data and Analytics Progress

LawAware is designed to track your learning journey through detailed metrics. Your performance analytics, total cases reviewed, daily learning streaks, and progression through the Standard and Story Challenges are processed and saved locally on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or store your localized educational progress on our external servers.

Ask AI (Legal Assistant) Queries

Our app features "Ask AI," an advanced legal assistant. When you type and submit questions to the AI, the text of your queries may be transmitted to our secure third-party AI service providers to generate an educational response. We strongly advise users not to share sensitive personal information (such as social security numbers, specific names, or confidential details involved in active legal disputes) within the chat feature. Queries are processed solely for the purpose of generating educational guidance and are not used to identify you personally.

In-App Purchases (Citizen Pro)

LawAware offers in-app purchases, specifically the "Citizen Pro" premium upgrade which unlocks unlimited rounds and unrestricted access to the Story Challenge library. All payments and transactions are handled securely and directly by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any of your financial information. Your transaction history is governed by the privacy policies of the respective app stores.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

To keep the core educational modules of LawAware free, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), and other technologies to collect data about your interactions with the app and other apps on your device in order to provide personalized advertising.

Tracking and Advertising Options (iOS & Android)

Depending on your device and location, you have choices regarding personalized advertising:

• iOS Users: Under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, you will be prompted to grant permission before we can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for targeted advertising. You can change your preference at any time in your iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
• Android Users: You can opt out of personalized ads by navigating to your device's Settings > Google > Ads, and selecting "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or "Delete advertising ID."
• EU/UK/EEA Users (GDPR): If you are located in a region governed by GDPR or similar data protection regulations, you will be presented with a consent form upon launching the app, allowing you to choose whether to accept personalized or non-personalized ads.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide you with our Service and for legitimate educational and business purposes.

How to delete your data: Because your core progress (learning streaks, case analytics, and quiz results) is stored locally on your device, you can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the LawAware app or clearing the app's data in your device settings. Chat queries sent to our Ask AI assistant are processed for response generation and are not permanently linked to your personal identity. Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security and Log Data

In the case of an error or crash in the app, we may collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, and the time and date of your use. We value your trust in providing us your information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, but remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new educational modules or legal compliance updates. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
